Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn was born in the US. Her most well-known character is Skyler White in The AMC Drama Breaking Bad, for which she received the Primetime Emmy Award in 2013 and 2014 for Outstanding Supporting Actress on a Drama Series. In addition, she has played Jean Ward in The Practice as well as Martha Bullock in Deadwood. Anna Gunn, born 1968 in Sante Fe New Mexico fell in Love with Acting in the Preparatory stage before relocating the family there to Ohio. Anna attended the British American Drama Academy and took classes in theatre at Northwestern University. Anna performed in Chicago's theater for several years, before trying out for film and TV roles. Anna received her breakthrough in 1992 when she appeared as Arden for 29 seasons of Down the Shore. After a brief appearance as a Guest on several TV shows as well as films, like Seinfeld and NYPD Blue during the 90's and was later cast as Jean Ward as part of The Practice. Martha Bullock was her role in Deadwood over two complete seasons. Skyler played her part in Breaking Bad. In addition, she was a part of the Deadwood movie and Sully. Gunn has also appeared on the stage starring in the David Schwimmer-directed production of Sex With Strangers. She also appeared in Numbered Day, a podcast made up of four plays. Breaking Bad is often built around Walter White's love affair with his wife Skyler. The strained relationship and ultimate demise mirror the tragedy of Walter White.
